Kings Mountain High School has always had strong arts programs.  The various performance groups have won several awards throughout the years.  In 2015, under the direction of Mr. Treharne and Mrs. Achter and under the Music Direction of Sarah Fulton, Little Shop of Horrors won the Wells Fargo Tier 1 Best Musical at the 5th Annual Blumey Awards in Charlotte, NC.  The same year, Austin Willis won a Blumey for Best Featured Performer for his role of Orin in the musical.

Chorus

The chorus department was led by Gene Bumgardner until 2008.  Shaye Smith took over when Mr. Bumgardner retired and led the department for two years before having to step down.  Sarah Fulton was hired to lead the department.  In that time, Symphonic Chorale has received 40 years of Superior ratings at Choral Contest.  Kings Revue has also won several state and national recognitions while under all directors.

Band

The band department has consistently been strong under the leadership of it's conductors: (former) Chris Cole, Gil Doggett and (present) Andy Washburn and Kevin Clary.
